Celebrating Your Love and Health

During this Valentine season we may encounter some new and different ways of showing our “affection” for friends and family, especially with a new wave of Covid-19 cases.

A recent experience of “showing the love” was when my family and I tested positive for Covid-19 over the holidays, and while in quarantine we realized how amazed we were with the outpouring of love and generosity from friends and family dropping off what I like to refer to as “Immune Building Baskets of Cheer”. They included items like, pots of Matzah Ball Soup, to fresh fruits, greens, vitamins, liquids and various medicines.

As we navigated through the uncharted waters of this flu-like cold, we kept a very important positive outlook, and came up with our very own remedy back to health. This season along with dropping off Chocolates, why not create an immune building basket! I have dropped off several of these baskets of cheer to people that are sick at home with Covid-19, and not only does it brighten their day but it actually helps to improve their health situation.

To spread the love to those who are homebound, drop off these items and you will be sure to make an impression, and feel free to create your own remedies. Basket Suggestions : Chocolate (preferably Jagielky’s of Margate), Oranges, Lemons, Apples, Vitamins C, D3, Zinc ( best to get gummies),Adult Electrolyte with Zinc, Tylenol, Riccola, 2 Quarts of Soup (chicken matzah ball or Italian wedding), fresh rolls ( preferably Rando’s) Tissues, Goldfish crackers, Crossword Puzzles, Waters.

Also, walk every day! Even if you’re tired, get out and breathe the air. Do breathing exercises every 2 hours, and then rest! If you have a fever, take the Tylenol every 4 hours and check your Pulse Oxygenator every hour. Normal Pulse Ox is 99-100, so if you see it dropping or in the mid 90’s keep taking deep breaths! Checking your Pulse OX is extremely important if you should drop below 90 for a consistent period of time then please call your health provider and decide for yourself your next move.Stay Positive! Every day get up, walk, steam in a nice hot steam shower, and eat the foods I have suggested. That's the routine! Continue to fight the illness and to build your immune system and keep Building!
