Prajje Oscar launched his Automne-Hiver collection at New York Fashion Week on Friday, February 9, 2024. The collection is called “Revolutio,” and is a homage to the resilient spirit of the Haitian people. It is inspired by the recent KPK movement in the Republic of Haiti. At the heart of the collection lies the spirit of the 1804 Haitian Revolution.
The collection fuses streetwear elements with avant-garde, creating an intersection of style and substance. The BSAP (a custom floral camouflage) dominates the collection with its modern, vibrant colors symbolizing growth, defiance, and the blossoming of a new era. The collection also includes white, tailored, military-inspired outerwear. Revolutio still has the feminine touch weaved into each ensemble that is an Oscar signature.
Oscar has also partnered with SheWorkz, specializing in Millinery ready-to-wear and Couture hats by designer Rasheda Hall Clark for Prajje Oscar. This unique partnership has added a specialized collection of headwear that complements and elevates this latest collection.
I had the pleasure of attending the first show for this new collection at NYFW with Rise New York Fashion Week and it did not disappoint. The venue of Wallace Hall inside a beautiful church was the perfect backdrop for the fashions. Next up Prajje is showing his collection at Philadelphia Fashion Week. The week of events kicked off last night at Industrious at the Fashion District Philadelphia. Prajje’s collection will be part of the “Runway 2” show this Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Live Casino. Tickets are available at phillyfashionweek.org.
Oscar also appeared with other local designers on FOX 29 Good Day Philadelphia yesterday with Philly Fashion Week co-founder, Kevin Parker to preview the week of events and announce the first brick and mortar store where we can all purchase from these amazing local designers in Philadelphia. “Maison” will open in the Fashion District Philadelphia in March. We can’t wait.
Oscar will also be showing his latest collection at Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week on March 28, 2024.
