The shoreline will turn teal once again as the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation celebrates the 10th Annual Sandy Sprint Sea Isle City on Saturday, July 18, bringing together runners, walkers, survivors and supporters for one of the Jersey Shore's most meaningful summer traditions. The milestone event also comes during the foundation's 25th anniversary year, making this year's race especially significant.
Held at Excursion Park, the Sandy Sprint is more than a race—it's a community-wide effort to raise awareness of ovarian cancer while funding critical research that helps improve early detection, treatment options and patient support.
Participants can choose between a 5K Run or a 2-Mile Family Fun Walk, with both events beginning at 8:30 a.m. Race day registration opens at 7:15 a.m., and the morning will also feature a moving Survivor Ceremony, awards, family-friendly activities and a post-race celebration at The Oar House.
The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation was founded in memory of Sandy Rollman, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer at just 33 years old. For the past 25 years, the organization has worked to accelerate research, increase awareness and provide education and resources for patients and families facing the disease.
Since expanding to Sea Isle City a decade ago, the Sandy Sprint has grown into a beloved summer event that attracts participants from throughout New Jersey and the Philadelphia region. Many runners and walkers participate in honor or memory of loved ones, while others simply want to support a cause that continues to impact thousands of families each year.
Registration is now open for individuals and teams. Organizers encourage participants to create fundraising pages, invite family and friends, and help make this year's anniversary event the biggest one yet.
