Public voting propels Cape May’s iconic seaside resort into the nation’s top five historic hotels
Cape May’s Congress Hall has earned national recognition as one of America’s premier historic hotels, securing the No. 4 spot in the 2026 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Historic Hotel.
The top-five finish follows Congress Hall’s selection by travel experts in July as one of 20 nominees from across the country. After several weeks of public voting, the landmark oceanfront resort rose to fourth place nationally.
Located in the heart of Cape May’s National Historic Landmark District, Congress Hall is known for combining its rich history and timeless coastal atmosphere with the comforts and amenities of a modern luxury resort.
