Colorful Adirondack Chairs Bring New Public Art to Atlantic City’s Fisherman’s Park
A colorful new public art installation is bringing creativity and community spirit to Atlantic City’s Inlet neighborhood.
The Inlet Hydrangea Trail Volunteers 2.0 will host a dedication ceremony on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Fisherman’s Park, located at 308 N. Rhode Island Avenue in Atlantic City. The free community celebration will recognize the artists and local partners behind a collection of hand-painted Adirondack chairs now installed throughout the park.
Local artists Cara and John Vaughn transformed the chairs into vibrant, functional works of art that residents and visitors can enjoy while spending time along the waterfront. The installation is part of a larger effort to beautify and enhance green spaces throughout the Inlet.
The project was carried out by the Inlet Hydrangea Trail Volunteers with funding support from the Inlet Community Development Corporation and Atlantic Cape Community College.
The Atlantic City Arts Foundation provided the Adirondack chairs through its ongoing partnership with the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. CRDA constructed and installed the chairs at Fisherman’s Park before Cara and John Vaughn brought them to life through their artwork.
The August 21 ceremony will celebrate the artists, volunteers and community partners who collaborated to make the installation possible while recognizing another investment in the continued revitalization of the Inlet neighborhood.
The dedication is free and open to the public, and everyone is invited to attend.
