Like everyone else, Bella the Syrup Queen needs a vacation too! Last week I took a trip to the Cancun and brought some of it home with me - specifically their Mezcal and Tamarindo Con Chamoy.
Naturally, my brain goes to MARGARITAS! Something interesting I recently learned is that Tequila is a form of Mezcal, not the other way around. Mezcal has a distinct smoky flavor profile unlike tequila. And since I love a sweet spicy margarita, I used Simply Bella's Orange Simple Syrup to balance the Tamarindo Con Chamoy pictured in the "Mexi-rita" cocktail below.
I decided to make my own Tamarindo straw and blend it in the drink!
Mexi-rita Cocktail
1.5oz Mezcales De Leyenda Guerrero
1oz Simply Bella's Orange Simple Syrup
1oz Lime Juice
Dime size of Tamarindo Con Chamoy for the drink
Tamarindo Con Chamoy up to your discretion for the straw
