Fall into Celebration with Roger Lee Dance Company

Founding Artistic Director, Resident Choreographer, and Dancer Roger Lee, by Bill Hebert.

Dance your way into October and the fall season with the Roger Lee Dance Company presenting ‘Celebrate!’, and enjoy a beautiful, family-friendly concert experience. The production, held at the beloved and newly renovated Performance Garage on Brandywine Street, celebrates the company's 10th anniversary, and return to the stage, featuring four new choreographic works by director Roger Lee. More than dance alone, the evenings begin with Lee’s first solo painting exhibition ‘PainterLee: A Solo Painting Exhibition’ as a pre-show event.

Lee boasts several talents. The company director, dancer and visual artist also excels professionally, teaching, coaching and lecturing, and most recently appointed as Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Penn State Brandywine. He is always on his toes for the next move.

Now, the performance is a weekend away, and the dancers are finally able to connect with their audiences in-person.

Of course, it wasn’t easy; No production is. A lot goes into it and even small challenges can cause bigger overall setbacks. For Roger Lee Arts the biggest challenge proved connecting with new production vendors. Many businesses closed or changed during the pandemic. “I was working with certain vendors for a decade. I suddenly had to pivot and work with many new vendors”, Lee explained. But making the best of it, he built new professional relationships with the vendors, and is excited for the show, full speed ahead. “We haven't performed live in person in three long years. I was very creative during the pandemic. I can't wait to show all that I created”, said Lee.

So, bring the family, enjoy dance and more! October 14 and 15 at 7- 9:30pm at the Performance Garage, 1515 Brandywine Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19130. Visit www.rogerleearts.com/events to learn more about this show and follow the company on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @RogerLeeArts.
