The Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation has launched the Phambassadors program with the goal of recruiting over 10,000 advocates, and it's an initiative that seeks to build a community of passionate Philadelphians who will shape global perceptions of the city in anticipation of 2026.
During a recent press conference, leaders from the Visitor Center Corporation and Visit Philadelphia introduced the Phambassadors program, emphasizing its mission to amplify Philadelphia's strengths and foster civic pride among residents.
Kathryn Ott Lovell, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation, explained, “Philadelphia possesses a unique X factor that the world often overlooks. The Phambassadors program aims to change that narrative by uniting our city’s most enthusiastic advocates to showcase its culture and vitality globally.”
The Phambassadors program offers participants flexibility to engage at various levels, from promoting civic events to sharing positive news online, volunteering at key events, and uncovering hidden gems throughout the city.
Becoming a Phambassador begins by taking the official pledge to represent Philadelphia proudly. Participants enjoy access to exclusive events, updates, local perks, and avenues for development within the program. They are encouraged to share their Philly pride through social media, tagging @phl.phambassadors and using hashtags #JoinThePham and #Phambassadors.
Phambassadors who excel in the program will be invited to participate in Pham Camp, an immersive experience designed to deepen their connection to Philadelphia. This initiative aims to equip participants with the knowledge and inspiration to promote the city worldwide.
As Philadelphia gears up for America's 250th anniversary in 2026, the Phambassador program is set to play a pivotal role in highlighting the city's spirit and energy on the global stage.
